I stayed at the Danubius Hotel Spa Resort Margitsziget (on Margaret Island) which is located 10 minutes from the heart of the city center. Margaret. The fall weather was quite spectacular and the hotel is surrounded by scenic trees which had leaves that had turned golden and red. There are walking trails on the perimeter of the island so the view of the Danube River is quite wonderful. One can experience the power of nature on this tranquil island and it is perfect location for enhancing health and well-being.
I experienced 3 treatments during my stay. I would have to say, my favorite was the medical mud treatment which is a thick, dark mud applied warm by a therapist. Wrapped in a cocoon, the mineral properties are said to impart therapeutic healing to the musco-skeletal system. After twenty or thirty minutes, the therapists hoses off the mud viola – a refreshing experience from head to toe. The other treatment was a salt cave which is much more passive but has some interesting mood altering affects in terms of calming down the to-do list. The salt is suppose to also aid in strengthening respiratory system. The third treatment was a twenty minute massage – very short in time compared to American standards but effective non the less.
